Academic Programs

We believe that children have an inherent potential for learning. The curriculum is designed to provide students with skills, concepts, experiences and enrichment opportunities for self-expression and independent learning. Learning activities in academic and special subjects are directed towards meeting the student's learning styles, multiple intelligence and different learning rates and stages of their development. The grade school curriculum is based on research and new discoveries in the various learning disciplines in order to maintain high educational standards.

Language Arts

The Language Arts Program is an integration of the listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. To develop the genuine love for lifelong reading, students are provided with meaningful and enriching learning experiences using quality and interesting children's literature. They are guided to express their thoughts, ideas and feelings through the development of their writing process and helping them to use writing as a tool for learning. In grades four, five and six, the students are expected to read independently contemporary literature of their respective grade level. An individual author's anthology is their major independent project in a school year.

This will engage students not only in learning about Social Studies content but also developing many important information processing and communication skills. This academic program aims to develop in the students the skill in reading, writing, analyzing, and synthesizing information to make connections between content areas and their own lives. The diverse cultural representations of students in the school provides an extraordinary experience to help the children understand and appreciate other cultures while maintaining an awareness of their own heritage.
