Intramural Sports (Inter-Class Sports Festival)

 

Westfields International School offers all students in preschool, grade school and high school an opportunity to participate in school sports competition. Each student is assigned to different sports team . Intramural sports are offered everyafternoon: On Day 1 Lower School students(Grades 1,2,3) play. Middle School students(Grades 4,5,6) play on Days 2 and 4 and Upper School students(High School) on Days 3 and 5. Students earn points for their school merely by participating - which is the main emphasis of this program - to get as many students participating as possible. Sports are varied according to trimester, many different sports are being offered throughout the school year.

 

School Sports Program

 

Grade School and High School students are eligible to play in our school teams. The extracurricular sports program focuses more on skill and competition than the intramural program does. Competitions - both exhibition and inter-school tournaments - are held through-out the academic year.

 

Students can play on teams representing the school in the following sports: badminton, lawn tennis, track and field, soccer, and swimming. Practice for students playing on extracurricular sports teams are held after school ( 4:00-6:00 pm).

 

Student Activities

 

Students also have numerous opportunities to participate in school - related activities other than sports. Some of the many extracurricular activities offered include:field trips, camp outs, outreach programs, Reading Recitals, Visual and Performing Arts Festival which includes: dance and song interpretation and presentation, drama and theater arts, painting and art exhibits, Literary Arts Festival such as poem reading, essay and slogan writing, choral recitations, debates , declamation and oration.

 

After -School Activities & Special Talent Classes

 

While the main emphasis is on studies the school gives importance to physical education and extra-curricular activities to balance school life. Apart from games and sports, the school conducts sessions for Music : Piano Lessons, School Choir, Dance(Ballet and Body Jam), Painting, Arts and Crafts, Karate and Swimming.
